When the M4 GTS was revealed back in August 2015, BMW claimed that the car was capable of a 7min 28sec lap time around the 'Ring, making it faster than the Ferrari 458 Italia and McLaren 12C. Now we finally have the proof - in glorious 4K

Should be compared with the sedan M3, or even the M4. The M4 GTS is track spec

The M4 is quite a different vehicle… less electronic assistance than the GTR and only 2 wheel drive

The M4 and GTR are great cars but are not in the same class. Its like comparing a hot hatch to an Evo X. Theyre not in competition against each other

Yes, it’s trackday car, but when the new civic type r clocked the ring at 7:50 nobody mention that the civic was equiped with rollcage and it was not civil car from the honda dieler. Everybody was talking about the rwd cars that it beat.
I think we can let them have the roll cage. That’s a safety thing and won’t make the car any faster. It adds weight.
