Red Bull Paint Job But No More Power For Aston Martin V8 And V12 Vantage S Special Editions

The AM-RB 001 hypercar might not be ready for another year or two, but the partnership between Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing is already bearing fruit - at least from the design and personalisation departments...

It seems a bit early for Aston Martin and Red Bull to be celebrating anything, since their partnership hasn’t actually delivered anything other than headlines yet, but the two brands have just announced the tasty hors d’oeuvre to whet our appetites for the AM-RB 001.

That’s the idea, anyway, consisting of Red Bull Racing editions of the S-badged V8 and V12 Vantage models. It’s a celebration, the press release says, of the partnership itself.

Essentially Aston has commissioned its Q bespoke personalisation division (sadly nothing to do with James Bond) to design something that echoes the look of Red Bull Racing’s F1 cars, but there’s sadly no more power or performance here. The V8 Vantage S stays on 430bhp, with the V12 S at 568bhp.

On the plus side, buyers can have their car’s sill and final inspection plates signed by either Daniel Ricciardo or Max Verstappen.

Deep Mariana Blue paint is standard in gloss, or the same colour is yours in satin for a fee. It’s the same shade as used on Red Bull Racing’s cars – or at least we have to assume so, ahead of the 2017 season machine’s launch later this month. Red and yellow accents also come from Red Bull. Tungsten Silver is another option if the blue just doesn’t light your candle.

Aston Martin President and CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer said:

“Motorsport is and will always be a key part of Aston Martin’s DNA and both the V8 and V12 Vantage S Red Bull Racing Editions bring that ethos straight to our customers.

“With the 2017 FIA Formula 1 World Championship set to begin soon, I hope that the purchase of these models will bring the racing season that little bit closer for those lucky few customers who can’t wait for it to begin.”

Deliveries will start in April at the earliest, with prices to be confirmed closer to the time.

So is this the first sign that RedBull doesn’t actually give you wings? Also, no Bulls on the side?
