Simson S51: a legendary moped bike from Suhl part 3 #blogpost

Last time I wrote about the B 1-3, B 1-4, B 2-4 and the E models. I will continue the list with 2 other variants, which are the E/4 and the C. Here is the list.

S51E/4: This model came to life when the small Enduro bikes had small interest because their hefty price. This moped was only for sale in Germany with a 4-gear block. It had simplified electronics familiar to the N model’s (no indicators or combined switches), but it had the Enduro’s main parts, which are the higher exhaust, better rear telescopes, retractable kickstarter, stiffening and every other stuff. It only had a 6V electric system.

S51C: In it’s name, C stands for Comfort. This is the S51’s most “luxurious” version, and the most expensive. It was introduced and produced from in 1983. The HS1 headlight and the rev counter were stock, included with the Enduro’s comfy rear suspension and seats. Some bikes had stiffening like the Enduro ones. It also had their fenders painted the same colour as the moped’s fuel tank. The (4-speed) engine block was painted black on these models. It’s most commonly known colour is asphalt white with yellow stickers. It was manufactured in 31,000 variants until 1991.

Next time I will write about the 12V models. Thank you for reading! And sorry for the bad quality photos.
