2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS/TC

I just picked her up a week ago and it’s been a great first week, minus the tire leak I seem to have acquired. I’m looking forward to finally having something worth putting some time and effort into. As the car sits it has an Injen CAI and a muffler & resonator delete. So far all I’ve done is remove the horrible yellow plasti-dip that was on the grilles and removed some window and fender stickers. The next item on my to-do list is to redo the interior trim which was tragically painted yellow, the previous owner liked yellow a little too much.

Other than some very minor things to do here and there I’m still contemplating colours, wheels and whether or not I should go wingless. I’m also in the process of trying to get my hands on the GM Performance Stage 1 tune that’ll give it a healthy bump up from 260HP & 260 lb-ft to 290HP & 340 lb-ft while maintaining factory reliability and warranty.

Those have a lot of potential. Sadly, they have the same limiting factor as my Buick Regal GS did: FWD.

Yeah that’s big downside. I don’t plan on doing anything too crazy with it since it’s my daily/only car. I mostly got it because it was a good deal and I have a little soft spot/attachment to them as my dad had 3 different ones when I was younger. Back then I told myself I’d own one day so now I can at least I say I did it.

I’d remove the wing, and make it into a sleeper. Would be amusing.
