Malaysia to stop hosting Formula 1 after 2018 #Formula1
BREAKING NEWS: Malaysia will no longer host the Formula One Grand Prix race in Sepang after 2018.
This was confirmed by the Malaysian Tourism and Culture Minister, Nazri Abdul Aziz, on Monday Nov 21. He stated that after the current agreement from 2016 to 2018 expires, F1 will no longer be in Malaysia.
The main reason stated is that the Malaysian GP attendance is dropping and it is no longer profitable to host one. This mark the end of Formula 1 in Malaysia.
Adding to that, there are rumors that Singapore also doesn’t want to host Formula 1 races anymore. If this is true, there will be no more Formula 1 races hosted in Southeast Asia.
