Don’t cut the wrong wire! I recommend you look for a video about it because this may be a highly dangerous task.

First, make sure that the battery is disconnected. The last thing in the world that you want is an airbag going off in your face.

First remove the panel under the steering wheel. I think that I can see that you’ve done this in the pics. Once you’ve got both the top and bottom plastic covers off, get an allen key or something sharpish and feel right behind the back of the wheel, where the plastic covers were previously blocking. You’ll feel a little hole and there will be a metal wire running through the hole. Get your allen key and slide it into the hole. You then need to use it to move the wire up so that it pops the airbag out. It’s worth jiggling the steering wheel a little bit while you push the wire up. POP it should come out!

Now that the airbag is out of its housing, you’ll be able to see the wires attached to it. There will be a connection on either side of the wheel, and you should be able to get it out with your hands, but if not, use a flathead screwdriver.

Once those are out, there should be one final connector stuck to the top edge of the wheel. Disconnect this and the airbag is now free. Place it FACE UP, because you really don’t want it going off out of no where. You’ll see one big nut in the middle of the wheel now. Make a mark on both the nut and the outside of it, so that it lines up perfectly if/when you reinstall it.

Now undo that nut and boom your wheel should come off.

I also suggest leaving the nut on there a little but while you are trying to pull the wheel off as you don’t want it to fly off and hit you jn the face.

It’s the trying to release the airbag that’s being the problem 😂
