Update: Nissan's Striking Vision Gran Turismo Looks Like The Love Child Of A Lexus LFA And A Jet Fighter

There seems to be a bit of a theme going on with these special concepts that appear in Gran Turismo 6, and that’s wideness. Just look at the recent VW GTI Roadster or the Mitsubishi Evo Vision and you’ll see what we mean. The theme has continued with Nissan’s effort, which can be seen via the leaked image above, and the recent teaser picture seen below.

This incredibly wide supercar is decked out in a huge range of aero devices, including one of the chunkiest rear diffusers we’ve ever seen, complete with a gigantic integrated exhaust. It reminds us of the Lexus LFA. The cockpit, meanwhile, is a bubble that pops out of the middle of the car, a little like a fighter jet canopy.

As with some GT Vision concepts like the VW GTI Roadster, there is a chance that this Nissan will be made in real life as a 1:1 scale model. However, it has primarily been created to appear in virtual form in Gran Turismo 6, and will be available via a download soon. It also hints at design features we may see on the eventual GT-R replacement.

Update

This concept, now known to be called the ‘Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo’ has been officially revealed. With the image below, we get to see what this brute looks like from the front. The GT-R influences are clear to see, particularly with the sculpted bonnet and long lights stretching up over the wheel arches.

The press release states that “as a specialist in automotive design in three-dimensions, Nissan believes that the real-world is ready for the Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo. Watch this space.” This indicates that the Japanese manufacturer will in fact make a ‘real life’ version of the concept, most likely a 1:1 model as we’ve seen with the VW GTI Roadster.
