Need For Speed PC Release Date Is 17 March, With Manual Transmission And Wheel Support Confirmed

If you've been patiently waiting for NFS's PC release, then the wait is nearly over. EA just announced it'll be available 17 March with a bunch of exclusive features

It’s fair to say that Need For Speed already looks pretty damn gorgeous on console, but with the announcement that the PC version will finally hit virtual shelves on 17 March, EA has promised an even better looking game. PC gamers with high-end machines will be able to enjoy the game at 4k resolution with an unlocked framerate.

As we guessed following yesterday’s teaser video, NFS on PC comes with manual transmission (this will also be available to console users via an update soon), but the exciting news is that wheel and peripheral support is coming to the PC version of the game - Logitech, Thrustmaster and Fanatec will have compatible wheels from launch.

The PC version will also contain all the updates applied to the console version via free DLC straight out of the box, with the only exception being the Showcase mode, which will be available shortly after launch.

It says 17th on the website. Probably 15th in US and 17th in Europe.

Meh still don’t care because there’s no point having a manual if the handling is so unpredictable and there aren’t enough cars still. Basically it being auto only was just a piece of the problem

So, people btch about manual not being in the game, they listen to the community and add manual and then btch about something else. Seems about right.

Good on them for adding it. Yet another step in the right direction. Won’t touch it until they change the handling though.
