I was driving my Fiesta st around and I noticed when I shifted into neutral the revs (rpm), dropped really slowly and even stopped for a second or two at some point. It continue to do this. Has this happened to anyone, or does anyone have ideas to fix it?

Rev hang, slows to drop revs (photo for attention)

No tune on it when it started. I just realized that i need a new air filter, so this could be the problem (car is using too much gas, causing the car to hold revs to burn off exess gas)

So you’ve put in a new stock air filter or a sort of performance filter?

I think its normal, mine drops about 1k rpm when i push in thr clutch and holds it there for a moment, which is perfect rev-match for an upshift.

Yeah, i just noticed a big difference in the speed the revs were dropping, so it caught me a little off guard.

I found that if I clutch in above 3.5k or so, it drops down to 3k, holds it there for a bit, then drops to idle.

If the turbo had spooled up it will stay at a point then drop to normal idle revs

Mine drops slowly too. I think it has to do something with the air filter or the gearbox.
