Mountune Will Boost The Ford Fiesta ST To A Mad 276bhp

Ford won't make an RS version of the Fiesta, but don't worry - an incoming upgrade kit from Mountune will nicely fill the void
Mountune Will Boost The Ford Fiesta ST To A Mad 276bhp

Despite persistent rumours to the contrary, Ford will not make an RS version of the current Fiesta. Ever.

We’re now all cried out over the lack of Fiesta RS, but thankfully, there is an aftermarket solution from those lovely ladies and gents at Mountune. The Essex-based tuner is famous for its warranty-friendly Ford upgrades that give a modest yet welcome boost in power, but the firm does also produce a few more serious, non-warranty-friendly tuning kits. And guess what: one’s on the way for the Fiesta ST.

Speaking to Autoblog, Ken Anderson - president of Mountune’s US arm - mentioned that an incoming upgrade kit for the smallest ST is in development, with a Garret GT2554R turbocharger at its core.

Thanks to the fitting of this bigger turbo plus a few supporting mods, the hot Fiesta’s power will be bumped to a positively scorching 276bhp. It’ll go on sale later this year, so there’s still time to get saving. Just make sure you budget for a limited-slip differential too…

I can say to fanboys that a stock R34 Skyline GTR has as much horses as a Ford Fiesta ST

Its safe to say that in order to prevent this thing from understeering into a bush the driver will really have to “focus”

Actually, Mountune is a UK-Based tuner, so, if you buy your Fiesta ST, or Focus ST/RS, you can actually go to the tuner, and then have the kit installed. Or so it seems, I don’t live in the UK.

276bhp to those tiny front wheels?
I’m not only worried about loss of straight line traction but also that the engine might take over the steering of the car
