This is a car that I want more than anything.
Alpina C1 2.5
Put the letters BMW and C1 in the same sentence, and most people will fall dark in the eye with not a particularly beautiful remembrance of the uncompromising and unattractive closed-type scooter that the Bavarian company had been pushing for fifteen years as a future of mobility. But put the word Alpine between these letters and the story will take on a different dimension. Alpina, which closely cooperates with BMW on the modification program of their vehicles, has been successfully doing it for many years now, creating some of the most popular sports cars, between 1986 and 1987, it has processed 50 copies of popular E30. That number makes it really a “rare bird”. The next question is that if you are looking for an interesting sporty “youngtimer” from BMW, would you go the classic way and target your quest to the wonderfully well-liked E30 M3 or take an alternative route to this Alpine? We would say that the “cool factor” on the side of Alpine, and its numbers are not at all lagging behind. Namely, from the 2.5-liter rowhead this exquisite E30 pulls out 190 hp (M3 has 192 hp) and 235 Nm (230 Nm at M3), and although it’s all there, acceleration up to a hundred is weaker for 3 decades And is 7.2 seconds. But is this important when we talk in the context of such an exclusive and interesting piece of Alpine and BMW’s symbiosis history? Or is the price too high given that M3 at the end of the day is a faster and more capable athlete, and Alpine’s average eye is more common?

Alpinas are lovely but I don’t think I’m suave enough - give me a Hartge H35-24 and I’ll ‘make do’ with that.
