FM7 Track Review: Mount Panorama Bathurst Circuit
No I didn’t forget about doing these. By request, today’s circuit is Mount Panorama. Last weeks circuit was Silverstone, which got a 14/20.
Track History
Bathurst, Australia was a town already full of racing history before Mount Panorama. The town held many street circuit races before Mount Panorama was constructed. The first use of the circuit wasn’t until 1938, when it hosted the Australian Grand Prix.

Track Visual
I’m going to say it. This is not a good looking track to me. The parts that are not in the mountain are ruined by cheesy advertisement and dull looking building, such as the pits. Up into the mountains, things are not so bad, but the advertisements are still there, and there are some residential buildings. It’s not that I feel that residential buildings are bad, its just that it’s in the mountain, which would’ve been perfect for a nice secluded nature section. However, you do get this feeling through turns 11-18 so I won’t dock it that much. It gets a score of 5/10 from me.
Drivability
This circuit is not overly smooth, or great for racing against other. These two facts alone might make you think that this is a bad track to race on, but you’d be wrong. Just because a circuit is good for racing or smooth doesn’t make it a bad track. Sure, they are important factors, but I can say with out a doubt that this circuit is one of the most challenging tracks in Forza. This track demands that you know every corner, what gear you should take it in, and how much you need to brake. Every corner is a fresh challenge. And while you are completing this challenge, you must do it never more than a foot or so away from the wall. This makes every lap exhilarating and terrifying. Setting a good lap time really demanded my complete focus. So yea, this track is a challenge, but that’s what makes it special. I give it an 8/10.

Bathurst… I’ve absolutly hated it since DTM (or toca) race driver 2. The esses are just so difficult to navigate cleanly, it almost gives a pinball effect if you hit one wall. The mountain section is for me to narrow to really put pressure on your opponents if you want to overtake them wich means your best (and maybe only) option is the main straigth on the foot of the mountain. I’ve talked about the track in one of my most recent posts if you need more explanation of why i hate mount panorama. Also, thx for putting the distance in kilometers as well :)
I did see that post, but I just like the difficulty of it. I know its not the most comfortable track to pass on, because i did do a race. I just like how its a precision track that requires complete focus, because if you dont focus you go into a wall. I know a lot of people hate this track, and i can see why they would, but in the words of that one Marge Simpson meme, “I think its just neat.”
