Hilarious Depreciation Makes This 471bhp Lexus RC F Look Like A Bargain

Can't wait for Lexus to make an F version of the stunning LC coupe? Try a lightly-used two-year-old RC with an astonishing price drop

If the news that Lexus has trademarked the name ‘LC F’ in Europe gets you a bit excited, you’re not alone. But it’s likely to be a while before any such car makes it to market, so we’ve been looking at today’s V8 Lexus coupe prices. And there’s good news.

The genuinely enjoyable, if slightly weighty due to American crash legislation, RC F is 2017’s two-door V8 Lexus for which you can hand over more than £60,000 plus options. With 471bhp and 391lb ft under your right foot, it’s a characterful and quick left-field choice with an absolutely cracking soundtrack.

It’s got muscles in all the right places and looks stunning in the right colours. It’s also the only two-door coupe in Europe that you can still buy with a whacking great normally-aspirated V8 in it (edit: Ford Mustang GT aside, of course), so hats off to the engineers who built both it and the 5.0-litre engine within.

But look at this one, not quite yet two years old with just 18,000 miles on the clock. It’s a classic colour combination of black paint and red leather upholstery, fitted with multi-way electric seats, climate control, a whole load of active safety systems and ‘premium’ sat-nav. It’s packed with cool kit.

Yours for £36,750, it represents a hefty £23,745 discount against new, equal to more than £1.30 lost in depreciation for every mile it has covered. While you’re losing two years’ worth of warranty, Lexus don’t tend to make too many unreliable cars.

We think this is a bit of a steal. It looks like new and it should drive that way too. However, if £36,750 is still a bit steep to satisfy your Lexus V8 lust, try this instead

Only 2-door coupe you can buy in Europe with a NA V8. Forgetting a certain something?
