Ever since we discovered that the BBC was chopping together a big finale for Top Gear as we know it, we’ve been excitedly waiting to find out when we could see the finished product. Today, we found out the good news that an extra long episode will be broadcast at 8pm on Sunday 28 June in the UK.

In a one-off special, two unseen films will be broadcast, with studio links provided by James May and Richard Hammond. The first film sees the trio living the life of classic car lovers, featuring a Fiat 124 Spyder, Peugeot 304 Cabriolet and MGB GT. The second film sees them become ‘lifestyle leisure enthusiasts’, purchasing a Vauxhall Frontera, Jeep Cherokee and Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin for less than £250 each.

So far, Top Gear’s biggest viewing figure is 8.4 milllion, which was achieved during the Lewis Hamilton episode, however it would not be a surprise if that is comprehensively beaten next Sunday.
