I think he just wanted to make clear that he was going into the pits. Silly that he still went for the overtake just before though.
It’s normal for people to use indicators on race tracks. They do it all the time, even in WEC
You’re supposed to use you indicators quite a lot on a track day; signal someone to come around, signal to overtake, signal to pit etc. Just basic communication between two cars
Wouldn’t it be worse to not indicate and just swerve across without warning?
