Here’s How Much Faster A BMW M760Li Is Than An M3

The M760Li is the fastest accelerating car BMW produces right now, so how does it compare to an M3 Competition Pack in a straight line battle?

BMW’s M760Li may be a big, two tonne hulk of a car, but with a fancy all-wheel drive system and 592bhp from a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12, it’s staggeringly fast. It’ll do 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds, which - until the new M5 arrives - makes this the fastest accelerating BMW in the current line-up.

We’ve already seen how it gets on when going up against similarly sized, similarly powerful luxury saloons, but how about another car from the BMW stable? That’s the setup in this Car Wow drag race, with the uber-7 pitted against the 444bhp BMW M3 Competition Pack.

As you’d expect, the M760Li wins the day, but the margin of its victory may surprise you. Don’t forget, while it has much more power to play with, it’s also carrying a good few hundred kilograms of fat on board. Not bad, BMW, not bad at all…

For those of you who skipped the video, yes, the M3 really got destroyed! It’s obvious. Of course the M760Li is faster than the M3. The S8 is faster than the RS4 and the S65 is faster than the C63…oh wait no.

Sure, on paper, the M760Li is faster on the straights, but the M3 obviously comes alive in the corners.

Also bearing in mind the m3 probably has one of the worst rwd launch control systems, had it been a better systen or the m3 Awd then i think this would have actually been a pretty close race, until a quarter mile anyway

I did say it’ll OBVIOUSLY come to life on a track there’s no need to clarify it furthermore.

You could have a chauffeur drag race for you while you laugh at the M3 from the backseat.

While i do like the current/upcoming M cars i just wish bmw had a ‘halo’ car . A true performance flagship model . Where the engineers at ///M were allowed to go mad . Just like the amg project one .

The comments on these videos are more entertaining than the videos them selves and always go like this :

Guy who’s favorite car of the two won: “ Yeah take that insert model or brand here fanboys!”

Guy who’s favorite car of the two lost: “Well my car would win if this other type of race or situation so shut up, you insert sexist insult here

“And 592bhp from a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12”

What? They only managed to get 592bhp from a 6.6L TT V12? Is that a joke?

That’s typical BMW tho. It’s about driving experience not numbers (well it used to be anyway)
