You would say that about the extreme failure called the F80?

295 pound feet torque. less than my 99 4.6 mustang made. actually that one made about 305 pound feet torque

So what? Does your mustang rev to 8300rpm? This engine is optimised for power and not for torque. No point in comparing the two.

lol you are very narrow minded who thinks he knows a lot about cars. You do realise that this S65B40 was designed to compete in race series that had strict displacement regulations? It saved BMW some money as it derived from the S85B50 V10 (used in M5 & M6), which was again derived from a formula 1 engine. Your gutless mustang’s V8 would not stand a chance to compete in the same class. Besides its not all about horsepower, its about balance. Ever heard of 50:50 weight distribution? DUH the voodoo V8 from the GT350 is 1.2 litres bigger than the S65. Any idiot can make more power and torque with bigger displacements. Except you’re a redneck american who would never understand this.

Probably the last M3 for the enthusiast. What has the new M3 become? Fake sound, doesn’t sound that great from the outside either, the weird styling with all those edges in the front… I don’t think that the F80 is particularly exciting.

Overall it’s better for the majority of people, it’s faster and more economical and more comfortable, which is what most people want from a car.

But if you want economical and comfortable, get the Alpina D3. Or even a normal 3series.

Imo the B3 is miles better than the M3.

I really like the new design of the new 3 series, even though I like the 4 series design a bit more since the front is a bit lower and sharper.
The exhaust is a bit meh. Bit a good aftermarket part works wonders on it and to be honest I don’t know an E92 owner who has the standart exhaust under his wheels.
I also miss the 8300rpm red line but the torque gain makes that up fpr me.

This car will be forever glorified in my eyes. I was just getting into car culture when this came out and it was everything I ever wanted; a massively powerful, high-revving v8. This is and always will be my dream reasonable car in sedan version.
