Here's An LSX-Engined E93 BMW M3 Convertible Shredding Tyres, Because Why Not

Need a nice dose of engine noise and tyre smoke to sort out your day? This should do the trick

While the 6.2-litre GM LSX engine under the bonnet may not make the same sweet howl as the original 4.0-litre BMW engine, there’s something rather satisfying about the violent V8 soundtrack it belts out. The particular V8 fitted to this E93 M3 convertible also benefits from an upgraded camshaft, plus a whacking great whipple supercharger.

We like.

Shouldn’t it be an upgraded camshaft? The LSX last time I checked was OHV

Not hating ,but, this had the best European V8 under the hood, strap a supercharger and you’ll end up with a high revving V8 with a nice whine to it, why LS swap it? If it was an ordinary E93 3 Series the LS swap wouldn’t be questionable.

I always wince a little inside when a real M car gets cut up and engine swapped
Why not use a regular 3 series for the same thing if you are gonna replace everything?

Strength and simplicity, I should think. Whatever powers a car like this is going to have a very hard life, so switching to something less complex and costly to have rebuilt is understandable!

Could have been an E93 M3 with a Dead Motor.

Sure the S65 Ran well but there’s the Rod Bearing Issue, The “Not Using 10W-60” issue, The Failed Sensor resulting into Leak that Killed Engine Issue, The Simple Redlined Too Long Issue, Or even just the VANOS Issues.

I mean, you can’t just pick up a slightly used S65 anywhere… whereas an LS?

Let’s Put it This Way, LS M3? Or Dead M3? Your Choice.

Why use an M3 if you’re gonna swap the engine anyway?

That’s Benjamin Boubles. He won round 1 of Drift GP, held in France, by cheating all the way from top 8. Brake lights were on all the way through the entry to the first turn (first turn was round the banked part of an oval circuit), but only on lead runs. People behind then crashed into him because he slowed for no reason and they got blamed.

That is why I don’t like Benjamin Boubles.

Well, he is hated by many people in France because of the controversies he was involved in the French Drift Championship since 2 or 3 years, I believe. He is pretty much recognized as a dirty driver now. And it’s sad because he was really strong with his former car (an LSX Swapped E36 M3) before he crashed it. Really fast, really smooth, and he was at the time much cleaner than he is now.
