We’re pretty used to watching crash test videos, but we’re perhaps less au fait with what goes on before. The answer? Rather a lot.

Footage shot from inside Mercedes-Benz’s Sindelfingen facility of the new E-Class being prepared for testing shows some of the meticulous preparations that are needed. From the careful application of reference points on the bodywork to the installation of the crash test dummies themselves, there’s a lot on the agenda.

Now that we’ve seen what’s behind the scenes of a crash test death ritual, now I want to see the preporation of an 18th Century death penalty by axe…or the closest thing to this, an ancient civilisation preparing to sacrifice a 10 year old virgin girl by fire………..What do you mean “That’s dark?”

Almost whole video with only ambient noise, reach the car crash test and cheesy synth music, no metal crash/bending sound… I want my 10 min back…
