Here's A BMW 1M Nurburgring Crash That'll Get You Right In The Feels

BMW's 1M coupe is one of the rarest modern M cars, so seeing one punted into some Nurburgring Armco is a hard thing to watch. Hopefully this one can be repaired!

With its boisterous power delivery, it’s easy to get caught off guard by the 1M - one of the first turbocharged M cars - as this driver unfortunately discovered. Here’s how we got on when we drove it back-to-back with the M235i in preparation for the arrival of the M2.

A total of 6’331 were produced, it can be assumed that a lot of them were already wrecked in accidents like this

Apparently this was an amateur driver wanting to explore a track he/she has never driven before.. Main goal. Know your limits and this isn’t a race. It just a causal drive in the park type afternoon.

The 1M Coupé wasn’t the first turbocharged M car though, the X5M and X6M were earlier. Though I can understand when someone doesn’t classify them as proper M cars and rather wants to forget them.

You’re right, of course. Maybe I was trying to block out the X5M’s existence in my head ;)

I think the ghost of the M2 was like “so you’re a much better looking car than me? Not for long; have a barrier to the face!”

It’s an art form to overcook something yet manage to make it rarer than when you started…

“Hopefully this one can be repaired!” anything can be repaired, as long as your wallet keeps magically refilling itself with moneyz.
