Hamilton And Rosberg Just Smashed Into Each Other At The Spanish GP

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were battling for the lead on lap one of the Spanish Grand Prix when the two collided and smashed out of the race

Via MyNameIsJonny_/Reddit

It looks like Nico Rosberg was trying to cover the inside on the run to Turn 4, as Lewis Hamilton quickly closed in. But as the triple world champion tried to move alongside, Rosberg kept on pulling to the right, with Hamilton going onto the grass. From there, he was simply a passenger, spinning and crashing into his team-mate. Not what Mercedes wants, but it mixes the race up nicely for us.

What do you make of the crash? Let us know in the comments!

Well, Hamilton did break Rosberg’s win streak.

I was going to turn the race on and go back to sleep for a little bit. But that woke me right up. I couldn’t ask for a better start to the race.

Nico pushed him out, simple. He is the inferior wheel to wheel driver, remember Belgium last year?

Pot calling the kettle black a bit, Hamilton has pushed Rosberg out plenty, most recently was Texas last year.

IMO it was Hamilton’s fault. When Hamilton tried to overtake Rosberg, Rosberg was already moving to the right hand side of the track. It’s not like Rosberg only moved towards the right after Hamilton started the overtaking maneuvre. Hamilton tried to go for a gap that barely existed in first place and that was already about to be closed at the point of starting his overtaking maneuvre.
But then again, I’m not a referee. Let’s see how they decide when the race is over.

Rosberg deviated from the racing line with the intention to block hamilton, unfortunately it didn’t work out and they’re now both paying for it.

But the racing line wasn’t moving to the right which means that rosberg did that maneuver to block hamilton.

Is it weird I’m more worried about having to listen to Lewis’ fans whine about this for the next few years?
