Mark your calenders now: a Gran Turismo Sport demo is coming to the PlayStation store for download from 7 October. And it’s no ordinary demo.

It’ll be playable from 9 October at 10am BST through to 12 October at 2pm, and as it’s far more extensive than your average demo, you’ll actually be able to carry over any progress you make to the full game, up to a credit limit of “$1MM.”

There’ll be Sport (that’s the online-focused one), Campaign and Arcade modes to choose from. Arcade features three tracks: a high-speed oval called Northern Isle, a more technical track dubbed ‘Dragon Trail’, and the Colorado rally stage for sideways, dirt-based shenanigans. You’ll even be able to challenge your mates to a race, as there’ll be a split-screen option for the Arcade section.

The Campaign mode features a number of challenges, missions and circuit experiences to try, earning you credits, Experience Points and vehicle unlocks that’ll you be able to enjoy in the proper game.

Want to slow things down a little? There’s also the ‘Scapes’ photo mode (above) to try out, plus an extensive Livery Editor.

It’ll be available to pre-download from 7 October at 10am BST. The full game will be released on 17 October in North America and 18 October in Europe.

If I was to buy a racing game, Forza would win for me, because its available on PC and Xbox whereas GT Sport is PS4 only (I don’t have any consoles)
