Get A Load Of The Wings On This Nissan GT-R Hill Climb Monster

This South African GT-R hill climber puts out 1600whp and has the most extreme aero kit we've ever seen

Somewhere, beneath all that aero, lies an R35 Nissan GT-R. It might be a little hard to tell, because, well, just look at the size of some of its appendages!

At the back, it looks like someone’s taken a huge rear wing, and put it through a photocopier after pressing the ‘x2’ button. Beneath that is a very angry-looking diffuser.

At the front, proceedings take an even more dramatic turn. Here, there’s a diffuser jutting out far in front of the bumper, above which there’s an additional, also gigantic spoiler. Obviously.

The R35’s arena of battle will be hill climbing, a motorsport discipline where often loose regulations can result in completely bananas stuff being created. This particularly ball of madness is the work of South African-firm Franco Scribante Racing, built in collaboration with Dodson Motorsport after a research trip to the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb last year.

There’s more to it than just gigantic wings, though. For starters, it’s putting out 1600 horsepower. At the wheels, not the crank. Cripes.

The car is littered with top-drawer parts, too, such as Ohlins dampers running in a pushrod configuration. The Alpha carbonfibre intake manifold assembly is a thing of beauty, and we’re digging the side-exit exhaust too. It’s a proper piece of kit, this.

The car will make its competitive debut at the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb on 2 May. We suspect it’ll be quite brisk.
