I would like to refer to CarThrottle’s Community Guidelines here, specifically the seventh point under “What should or shouldn’t I say in the comments?”:
DON’T: Use violent and hostile language or call for violence and hostility. If you directly or indirectly threaten the physical or mental well being of a member of this community, or an individual or group who is the subject of an article, you will be removed immediately. Also do not post any personally identifiable information.
This comment, which can be easily translated to “bio compound that kills non car guys,” is in violation of this rule because it is implying for a biological weapon - a weapon of mass destruction, no less - to be developed for use against people that may not like cars, which qualifies as genocide. Even if it was meant to be ironic, there are no indicators of any sarcasm present in the statement in question, thus throwing any possibility of the comment being facetious out the window. It is a gross violation of this community’s guidelines, and it should be dealt with accordingly.
Qian Li, posting a comment that poses a clear and present danger against a group of people in this manner is completely out of line with the Community Guidelines, stomps all over the basic concept of respect, and outlines one of the reasons why the community is becoming increasingly virulent. Many of us older members are finding that this guideline is being broken more often in recent times, and we censure this further degradation and embarrassment of the CarThrottle community. This is not the first time this specific user has made a comment that could be interpreted as a violation of the rules, going from wanting the person that approved the Dunsfold Aerodrome’s bulldozing to be executed to wanting non car guys to be exterminated. Whether or not action should be taken is at your discretion, but I believe it was imperative for me to bring this to your attention.
Why should you hate non car guys? They never did anything, and wanting to kill them is just plain immature.
