Ferrari Paris Has Created An Incredible 308 GR4 Rally Car-Inspired 488 GTB

When we think of Ferrari’s close connection to motorsport we think of Formula 1, Le Mans and Corse Clienti; the glamorous world of motor racing if you will. But, it’s important to remember that Ferrari’s success isn’t limited to ‘track racing’, with the iconic Italian marque winning multiple events in the competitive world of international rally.

Back in the early 1980s, Ferrari competed in the Tour de France (an official round of the European Rally Championship) with a custom-built, French Racing Blue Ferrari 308 GR4. Jean-Claude Andruet won the event two years on the trot - in 1981 and 1982 - turning the car into a rallying legend.

To celebrate this success, Charles Pozzi (Ferrari Paris) - the same dealer that campaigned the original car - commissioned a one-of-a-kind 308 GR4-inspired 488 GTB. The end result is spectacular. Using Ferrari’s Tailor Made program, the 488 features the same two-tone colour scheme as its older sister, as well as updated sponsor logos and a lovely set of gold wheels.

The interior has also been reworked to match the original car: the seats have been reupholstered in traditional rally-spec ‘historic’ fabric, the dash is swathed in matte carbonfibre, and the floor is finished in period correct Grigio Corsa matte aluminium. The only thing it’s missing is a huge light-bar.

There’s no word on the price of this project, so we’ll just have to wait and see if Charles Pozzi puts it up for sale. If only we had the money…
