Elon Musk Has Rejected "Bonehead" Questions Over Tesla's $710 Million Losses

Elon Musk is spending a lot of his time right now fighting fires at Tesla, but nerves were definitely touched in a recent interview with financial analysts...
Elon Musk Has Rejected

Ready for your latest dose of Tesla-based oddness? Good, because Elon Musk has hit the headlines once again. This time it’s for totally dismissing corporate analysts’ questions on Tesla’s financial health.

As we’ve already reported on several occasions, Tesla is spending money pretty quickly without all that much of it coming back in. During a conference call with number-punchers from heavyweight industry analysts, Musk refused to answer seemingly valid questions about dollar and about how many people who had placed deposits for Model 3s still wanted them.

Elon Musk Has Rejected

A Bernstein analyst called Tony Sacconaghi asked about how much money Tesla needed to raise to keep functioning after the company lost a record $710 million in 2018’s first quarter, but CEO Musk responded with:

“Excuse me, excuse me. Next, next. Boring bonehead questions are not cool. Next.”

Elon Musk Has Rejected

Shortly afterwards, another analyst, Joseph Spak of RBC, asked how many, of those people who had placed Model 3 deposits and now had the chance to move on to the next stage and customise their car, had actually followed through. There was reportedly a 14-second period of silence where it’s believed that the call was muted on Tesla’s end, before 46-year-old Musk returned and said:

“We’re going to go to YouTube. Sorry, these questions are so dry. They’re killing me.”

Elon Musk Has Rejected

In minutes some $1.8 billion had dropped off Tesla’s publicly traded value. Meanwhile, the Model Y’s production start date has been delayed until 2020, a year later than first stated, and we now know that it won’t be built at the firm’s Fremont, California plant. Elon Musk has also himself said that it’s ‘high time’ the company became profitable.

We hope it does, but this shareholder-scaring weirdness won’t help.

He thinks the car industry is like a game where he can just go back when the fun is over, but instead he is going to the point of no return and moreover it’s like torture time for him and his company. Like I said in the last post, He shouldn’t have rushed in the first place. He already reached the endgame. Game Over

Yeah no I’m pretty sure no one works like that, especially not Musk. Say what you will about him but that statement about the man behin PayPal and SpaceX is just plain idiotic.

Btw I must however say that Musks attitude in the videocall/interview is pretty childish and cowardly. Simply refusing to answer questions is worrying to say the least. If I was a Tesla shareholder I would be shook (aside from all the other previous red flags)

From digging tunnels to flying cars, and now not facing the disasters………. I think if he didn’t rush everything at once it wouldn’t end up dis bad tho (just my opinion)

Not just that, but he rushed the Model 3 too quickly. It’s difficult to quickly ramp up production. He should have stayed in the six-figure price bracket and made a more comfort-oriented saloon to rival the S-class that actually has decent build and interior quality. Other companies with better production lines can deal with bringing electric cars to the mass-market. Musk somehow feels like that’s his job.

The last bit of respect I had for Musk has been completely and utterly shredded. He just wont admit that he’s lost. If you can’t answer a question or don’t want to answer it, at least try to give a semi-convincing response that doesn’t give the game away. Any politician with at least half a brain is an expert at this. Simply calling it a “bonehead question” is disrespectful to the person asking and says a lot about him.

I’ve disliked him from minute one. You only need to look at his twitter feed to see that he has his head up is own arse, and thinks he’s the hottest things since sliced bread. I’d go as far as to say he’s quite the narcissist.

Tbh, I never saw Elon praising anyone. He’s so self centred and egoistic with his actions that he believes he can achieve greatness from scratch in a mere months which has been proven to be impossible for any business model. His ego is his own enemy that’s let him down.

Honestly. When I told people I dislike Elon Musk and said that I prefer Mate Rimac all I got was hate. Fast foward to 2018, and my words got true. Tesla is on the verge of bankruptcy. When asked a simple question Elon insulted the journalist (not really but you get the point). You know what Rimac did when he had no cash? He didn’t act like that. Hell when he was desperate for cash, he volunteered to help a disabled boy by modifing his wheelchair using Concept_One batterys. That boy can now using his electric chair go to the nearest mechanic, and learn about cars. And that reflects on the company. I belive helping others will help you too. Rimac helped many companys in Croatia, and guess who made sure there are no leaks about the C_Two? Many leaks were reported to the local newspaper, but they didn’t release them since Rimac helped them a few years back. Photografy of the C_Two? Yes that was another favour from the other company. I strongly belive that success is 10% idea, 40% effort, 50% good behavior. Selling autonomy fetures before they are ready isn’t good behavior!

I don’t want to turn this into: “Rimac is better than Tesla” but you can see my point here? Tesla got what it deserved.
