They have shoddy engineers who can’t convert their German LHD cars to RHD. German Engineering at its finest. Basically it’s to save them money on actually putting effort into redesigning some parts to fit it in, because Mercedes stuff so much electrics and pointless stuff into the car, there’s no room for the steering wheel and pedals to be where they are meant to be. The result is that the steering wheel is angles probably a good 20 degrees to your left when I’ve sat in them, the steering wheel moves maybe 5cm to the left and the pedals move along to the left. This means sitting in the car is the most awkward thing in the world. If you sit in BMWs they have the same issue.
But Volvo manages to stuff tons of electronics without having this problem
