Does It Bother You That The Porsche Boxster No Longer Has A Flat-Six?

The relentless onward charge of downsizing has hit Porsche once again, with the Boxster losing its sweet N/A flat-six for a turbo flat-four. But does that bother you?
Does It Bother You That The Porsche Boxster No Longer Has A Flat-Six?

We’ve been expecting it for a while, but it’s finally happened: the Porsche Boxster range has moved to turbocharged four-cylinder power. Sure, the engines are more powerful and have punchier torque outputs - with the 2.0-litre version putting out 25bhp and 66lb ft more than the old 2.7-litre six - plus there’s the economy benefits to think about. But losing that characteristic Porsche flat-six howl does seem like a shame.

As long as they don’t entirely get rid of the N/A H6 911 I don’t care what they do. The GT3 is my last hope.

the boxter doesn´t bother me that much but it is a step closer of wiping out the great NA engines. And that would be the saddest day in automotive history

N/A is nice but let’s face it, Porsche needed forced induction for its engines from the get go. I just think that supercharging might have been better to keep the N/A feel.

Own a Boxster and I think a smaller turbo engine will make it better

Never owned a boxster but i think the smaller engine should boost the nimble handling characteristics

All I can see is a few of cool beetle swap projects incoming in the next years

It’ll be a bit more appropriate than the Subaru engines
