Hello, im looking to buy one if these two cars. Both with the M-sport package. Im leaning towards the 118d beacause it is cheaper, but what are the differences between these two other than 40hp?
I have a 2010 118d. I tried several 118 and 120d but eventually decided on mileage/ service history and condition. Back to back performance not much different for commuting but got it mapped to 182bhp and it really made a noticeable difference when driving enthusiastically. Brakes are the same. The 123d is much quicker with a bigger turbo and intercooler!
Thanks a lot, but only 183hp? I was told it would easily get 200hp ;)
That’s at the wheels, not the flywheel and done as a bespoke map on a rolling road. The readings can vary but 200 to 210 at flywheel is a pretty common figure on a healthy engine. It’s an N47 engine with dpf still fitted so I was pleased with that.
Bought the 118d - and get it mapped the 3rd next month - have you had any issues with it being modified so far? :)
