Chris Harris Pits The BMW M2 Against The Legendary 1M
In another episode of Chris Harris drives, the man tries to find out whether or not the M2 is a 'proper' M car, by comparing it to his own 1M
Despite being using a strikingly similar recipe, the M credentials of the already legendary 1M aren’t questioned in the way the M2’s often are. Perhaps that’s because - as Harris explains here - it was something of a skunk works project. A bit old school. A bit of a brute.
Wherever you stand, the M2 comes off favourably here, even against a mildly fettled 1M which also happens to be Harris’ own.

I would very much like the M2, but since a new one would cost me about £100000, and that’s before I start looking at the options list, I guess it’ll only be in my imagination…

The 1M has been my favourite car ever since BMW said they were going to make it
The 1M though! That is honestly my favorite bmw
I love the 1M but I’ve never been particularly excited about the M2 - I think I’d rather just remap the M235 and skip out on the questionable bodykit.
And of course put a proper diff in it.
