BMW's 8-Series Configurator Is Now Online
Are you a petrolhead who’s bored at the office today? If so, BMW has just released the perfect distraction for you. Having just pulled the cover off of the all-new 8-series, the Belgian division of the Bavarian luxury car maker recently launched an online configurator for the gorgeous grand tourer. Unsurprisingly, we couldn’t help but come up with our own virtual creation.
Our virtual creation is based on the M850i, which is powered by a 4.4-litre petrol V8 with more than 500bhp. Even though the colour palette isn’t particularly diverse, we still had a hard time deciding what shade to paint out an 8-Series. In the end, we opted for Sunset Orange over 20-inch black-finished wheels.
Inside, we’ve kept things fairly conservative. Our M850i is stitched together with the standard black leather upholstery, with M-themed tricolour seat piping. In keeping with the dark-themed cockpit, we’ve replaced the standard aluminum centre console trim with a piano black finish.
Like most BMWs, you can get carried away with the options list on the 8-Series. Fettling your M850i with features such as Harmon Kardon audio, carbon-fibre fascia and advanced driver aids can push the price tag north of €150,000. But, hey, it’s only money, right?

At first glancr, without reading the title, I thought that’s a Mustang.
The roofline is very similar. Ignore the front bumper and I could totally see it

can i remove the indicators?
Too many people draining the indicator fluid causing more pollution has lead to BMW not fitting indicators as standard. They are a £1000 extra.

White interior looks the best, its just looks expensive
The only thing that annoys me in 8 series configurator is that you don’t have an option to select grey/white headlining or sunroof. Black headlining makes most interiors seem visually smaller and less spacious than they actually are. I just like to feel more space above my head

Now I know how I will (cratively) waste my time when I get home. These configurators are sooo addictive.
Forget the M850i, I want my M2 Competition configurator already :(
