Behold The Wider, More Powerful Novitec N-Largo Ferrari 812 Superfast

Novitec has lifted the lid on its full suite of tuning options for the mighty 812 Superfast, from the aerodynamically more efficient widebody kit to an 829bhp power upgrade

Novitec has finished its vision for a faster, more aggressive-looking and biblically sonorous Ferrari 812 Superfast.

After dipping its toes into the water a few months ago with a more basic aerodynamic body kit, the German Ferrari-fiddler has now revealed a full widebody suite that has us drooling onto the cushions covering our laps.

Behold The Wider, More Powerful Novitec N-Largo Ferrari 812 Superfast

Called the Novitec N-Largo Ferrari 812 Superfast, it’s a hefty 140mm wider at the back and 70mm chunkier at the front. Do not attempt to park this at the kerbside unless you want to wreck those stunning 21- and 22-inch Novitec NF 10 NL wheels developed with Vossen.

The five twin-spoke design is almost a conventional ten-spoke look but all four corners wear the same 275/30 and 335/25 Pirelli rubber seen on the less heavily tweaked car in January. We adore the deeply concave look.

Each steroid-inflated wheel arch now has additional breather vents behind it. At the back they run the full height of the voluptuous flare and frame dark-set light clusters, a carbonfibre section across the rear and a carbonfibre fixed rear wing.

The black exhausts are yours in steel or 11kg-lighter Inconel, with the option of active flaps for choosing between good boy moments and, err, the other kind. Beneath and surrounding the four tailpipes is a vast carbonfibre diffuser array. The Ferrari prancing horse is in black or carbonfibre, too.

As per the earlier mods there’s a 35mm drop on new springs that retain the OE dampers. A front axle lift system can nudge the nose back up by 40mm if you really can’t avoid a speed bump.

But why not take the long way and listen to that exhaust a little? The video above contains possibly the best 75 seconds of audio you’ll hear this week, or ever. Novitec is on top form, delivering standing starts, fly-bys, tunnel runs and standing throttle blips. We simply can’t get enough of that noise.

On the other hand, the example interior makes us want to gouge our eyes out with rusty spoons. Presumably done to display the vast variety Novitec can produce, the choice of colours is limited only by what you can find on this planet. As for materials, it’s leather and Alcantara, naturally.

Last, but not least, is a power boost. As the Superfast is naturally aspirated there are no easy pressure-based magic wands, but an ECU remap has liberated 40 more stallions – as if you’ll ever be able to use them on the road. The 6.5-litre V12 here sends 829bhp to the rear at 8750rpm, which the tuner claims makes it ripe for a 214mph top speed and a 0-62mph launch in 2.8 seconds; 3mph and 0.1 seconds faster than standard. We guarantee you won’t notice, but it’s probably a good coffee bar boast in Monaco.

I wonder if supercar tuners will be a mainstream trend in the future….

For something to be mainstream it has to be accessible to a broad demographic. So unless supercars themselves become mainstream and everybody’s neighbor has one, there’s no way for that to happen.
