Briggs Automotive Company, better known simply as BAC, is launching an official American arm.

The makers of the massively exciting Mono are launching an OEM subsidiary based in California, allowing America not just to assemble the car on official BAC premises but also to offer full factory sales and aftersales services.

It’s the start of a drive to develop a nationwide dealer network in the US, with around 10 locations in total, all still to be confirmed.

The company has previously exported to the States but there has been no official backup in the country, with specialist garages taking up the slack. But the demand for the Mono seems to be such that BAC has made the investment to set itself up there.

Oddly, in a press release BAC refers to the Mono as a ‘luxury supercar’, which, when it’s neither well-equipped nor a supercar, is a puzzler. We’d call it a stripped-out supercar killer, or some other suitable cliche. Nonetheless, company co-founder and Director of Product Development Neill Briggs said:

“Our venture in the United States of America is born out of extensive industry research. It’s the biggest and most informed supercar territory in the world, which is why it’s at the very top of our global sales strategy.

“BAC USA is another string to BAC’s bow and we’re looking forward to sharing the Mono dream across the Atlantic even more.”

The new COO and President of the US operation, Mark Rayner, added:

“This is an incredibly exciting time for BAC with the launch of BAC USA.

“By offering factory presence in the U.S., buyers can benefit from added peace of mind and we can attract new customers to experience the Mono.”

So, America, are you excited to see BAC coming to a state near you soon, or will it be white noise in a crowded market?

I love the BAC Mono, but its slightly tainting by being one of the typical Forza lobby scum cars.

Man tell me about it. It’s especially annoying when it’s been given the V8 from the Ariel Atom
