Assetto Corsa Has Been Delayed And Gamers Aren't Happy

PC gamers have been busy logging hours in Assetto Corsa for over a year now, while PS4 and Xbox One players have been waiting patiently for 22 April. However, the wait just got longer...
Assetto Corsa Has Been Delayed And Gamers Aren't Happy

Publisher 505 Games announced today that both PS4 and Xbox One releases of Assetto Corsa has been delayed until June. The game hits Europe on consoles 3rd June, and North America has to wait a a few more painful days until 7th June.

The publisher explained the need for more time to polish the game, which could be wise considering its competition is made of racing game giants like GT and Forza.

Just a few weeks ago, developer Kunos Simulazioni confirmed that the Xbox One game will run at 60fps offered on 900p, and the PS4 game will run at 60fps offered on 1080p. While the delay is understandably irritating for console gamers, it’s probably the best move for everyone. Assetto Corsa is entering the ring as a little guy with these enormous gaming titles, challenging their ranks.

This added time may give the game just what it needs to dethrone the major brands. As for PC players….they couldn’t be happier; more exclusive game time gives PC gamers greater opportunity to set and maintain their track records!

Personally, i think it should be a PC exclusive, i feel that development for the PC version has slowed down, but they do show their progress so i guess thats fine. Plus, if the physics are the same as PC, please dont buy this game without a wheel, pls. i imagine it will be more focused on using a controller so i guess it should be better

I agree it should be a PC exclusive, but for a different reason. Im not entirely convinced that there’s a market for it on console. There’s no real career mode, no car customisation, no mods of course.

Then again, when kunos first announced AC most of the sim community thought it would be vaporware.

Thank you! Assetto Corsa is probably the most focused sim game on the market right now. I think they should focus on developing the game’s physics to make it even more realistic and on expanding the range of cars, not making a console version which will do nothing but take up time and money. Also, as the game becomes better and better the consoles may not be powerful enough to run it properly, so the devs should stick to PC and put their effort into improving what it is now and crafting a properly good sim game, not dumbing it down for consoles.

I have this game and I use a keyboard… its not impossible but 10+ years of using a keyboard to play racing games does help a lot :D

I feel that the same can be said for Dirt Rally when it hits consoles. The PC version may not have the console exclusives but a wheel is a must to fully enjoy the mad physics engine that comprises said game and what makes it so great when you get a perfect run in. (Plus its impossible to play with a controller on the PC).

I have it for PC, but I was so excited to get it for xbox, as I prefer playing racing games on the xbox.

Why?

How come? Xbox has a lower frame rate, lower resolution, lower graphical details, more restricted input options, no multi-monitor support for an immersion setup…

It’s payback for PC gamers having to wait 19 months and endure three distinct delays before we got GTA V, and 4 months for Need for Speed.

But the PC Version of gtav is better imo :P and who cares about need for speed.. This new version is just meh.

Rockstar has a LONG history with pc ports. Personally I’m glad we waited.

Forza looks better, not sure if the physics are tho. And a wheel is so much better, controllers don’t let you steer the same way

Well Assetto Corsa is seen as one of the better simulations on PC so I don’t think the physics part will let people down.

Well this is good at least that way the game won’t be rushed which therefore means it won’t be buggy

A good working game is better than getting a game fast but not working

AIs can easily overload mid range CPUs like my i5 4430. If I run too much AIs on the track and my CPU overloads, they will start crawling around the track. I think this problem will be more often on consoles since their hardware is even worse
