An Aston Martin DB11 Volante Is Coming, And It'll Look Like This

Just like the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster we were ogling earlier this week, a drop-top Aston Martin DB11 ‘Volante’ is something we’ve been viewing as an inevitability. And sure enough, today Gaydon has confirmed that it is taking a giant tin-opener to the new DB11, releasing these prototype images to answer “some of the recent speculation” regarding the vehicle.

An Aston Martin DB11 Volante Is Coming, And It'll Look Like This

So, it’ll looks something like this, minus the riveted chunks of metal that are adorning the rear three-quarter. Other than the fact the car will be available from Spring 2018, Aston hasn’t revealed any other details.

We can expect the same 5.2-litre, 600bhp turbo V12 from the coupe to live under the bonnet, and the 3.9sec 0-62mph of the tin top to drop a little owing to the usual convertible weight gain. The £154,900 will also rise slightly.

Would you have a coupe, or a convertible?

Is it just me or does it look like bullet holes and a massive dent in the rear panel in the first pic?

The panels aren’t final body work, they’re essentially “camo” panels screwed onto the body underneath, so yes, it is quite a mangled and dented piece of metal that you are looking at. The dark “bullet holes” are simply indents.

Its the worst looking aston in a while - but its still alright. I would rather have a used vanquish than a new DB11 for sure, but i wouldnt say no if someone gave me the keys
