What is your favorite 4 door sedan from Japan and why? Mine would be the 2016 Toyota Crown Athlete.

When it was the first time I went to Japan, I instantly fell in love with a 2016 Toyota Crown Athlete outside Narita Airport. It looked so dominant. In fact, in my opinion, it has even more road dominance than any other 4 door luxury sedan! I saw and heard it drive away. It sounded great. (I think the owner installed an exhaust). Just look at it and tell me it’s not a performance sedan. It looks so dominant on the road, and in motion. It’s powered by a 3.5L 6 cylinder engine that makes 280HP or a hybrid 2.4L 4 cylinder engine that makes 220HP.

Usually in a luxury car interior, it is usually filled with classic, vintage things. But the Crown’s interior represents Japan’s passion for the future. When do you ever see a luxury car with automatic air vents, a touch screen climate control console, and a high tech speedometer? And how it drives. It is so smooth and comfortable. But on some occasions, it is a JDM car. It is used in most drift and drag racing events in Japan. It’s also used for premium taxis in Japan.

Sadly, it is only sold in Japan. But you could get it in other countries, as the Lexus GS was based on the Crown. But If I had to choose a GS and a Crown, I’ll go with the Crown anytime. It looks better and is less boring.
