We’re all well aware of the fact UAE police officers are lucky enough to have access to some incredibly exotic motors, but this is ostentatious even by their standards. The latest car to wear the Abu Dhabi police force’s red and white livery is the Lykan HyperSport.

It’s the first supercar built in the Middle East, and costs a whopping $3.4m (£2.2m). It’s powered by the twin-turbo 3.7-litre flat-six from the Ruf CTR3, making 740bhp and 708lb ft of torque. That makes it good for 239mph, and it’ll complete the 0-62mph sprint in 2.8 seconds.

W Motors, the company behind the HyperSport, has been on a publicity offensive in the past few years. The car appeared in Furious 7, where it was the star of arguably the most ludicrous stunt in the whole film. It’s also available in a number of games, such as Project Cars. This is likely another publicity stunt by the firm, and it’s safe to say it’s worked…. the internet can’t resist a supercar in cop colours.
