1991 Honda CB-1 (NC27 CB400) Cafe Racer Project

Here’s my moped !

A 1991 Honda CB-1 a friend and myself designed as a Cafe Racer. Nothing much to say about it, except it’s always a pleasure to ride it =]
It’s not fast, but light is right !

What’s been done to it :

  • Shrinked back end frame
  • Added bars for the seat
  • Changed parts : seat, mirrors, turn lights, stop light, battery, electrical wires, lowered clipons
  • Removed parts : Plastic covers (chainguard, sides, etc.), frame stuff (especially electrical fixations), center stand

Full project from the beginning is available at http://www.hondacb1.org/forum/index.php/topic,5121.0.html

Special thanks to the HondaCB1 forum for sharing their knowledge & docs about this rare and fantastic bike =]

Beautiful! I’m hoping to get a 400ish CC for my first bike.

Great idea, they’re often lighter than 600cc+ bikes you could afford the insurance cost so it makes them more pleasant to ride despite the lack of hp. Just make sure it’s not too old to begin (brakes, global handling etc. / don’t buy a really old “unsafe” bike for a first timer)
