1983 Mitsubishi Mirage Panther II

This is my soon to be daily driver, an 83 Mitsubishi Mirage, Panther II. This car was assembled in New Zealand. It has a 4spd Manual, with the “super shift” feature. This gives the car a “power” and “economy” option, therefore giving it 8 forward gears and 2 reverse gears. The engine is a 4G12, 1.410cc powerhouse that puts out an unknown amount of HP! This car is in great, original condition for it’s age. This car is known as the “Dodge Colt” or “Plymouth Champ” in the USA.

Wow, it looks gorgeous. O_O
But asking out of interest: can you use all 8 gears sequentially? And if you can, does it make sense to do so?

Hey, you can use 4 gears in each setting, or you could, for example: while in 2nd gear switch to economy from power, if that makes sense. Would be cool to have 8 gears!
