Celica 5th generation

Now for 1989 details of the all new Celica were released. A all new rounded and sporty Celica surfaced. This also was the year that the released that the mighty AWD turbo option would be coming to the states. Best known as the GT-Four

                                                    1990 

• In 1990 they added a wide body lift back GT-Four option and the convertible. The convertible option only lasted 2 generations till being fazed out in the 7th generation.

                                                     1992

• Toyotas gave the Celica a fresh new face also giving it a stiffer suspension.

• A much improved transmission upgrade (better gear linkage).

                                               The GT 4 RC 

• Only 5000 of these cars were made. It was a special option for the Celica line up. It featured

• more aggressive Turbo set up

• Better ECU set up
• Lighter body panels
• New hood

The 5th generation Celica offered so much fun to the Toyota line up. From its light weight to its Turbo AWD system. It’s ashamed to see Toyota now. It’s is what it’s is I guess. On that note
