I want one. It’s supposedly a lot better than the OEM oil separator, and since we have low tension piston rings, the pistons seal better under the extra vacuum.

Excatly, I’m been debating on pulling to trigger on it or not - not many e46 people do it so there is not a lot of info I guess

It’s a good idea if you live in a cold climate. Otherwise it’s a waste of time.

Also there shouldn’t be any vacuum increase from a catch can in terms of the crankcase. That would result in a reduction of oil pressure and improper lubrication. Your engine need pressure in the crankcase to help push oil into the oil pump in addition to the vacuum the pump produces.

The bottom ends of these engines are quite solid so if anything is messed up with the rings it is because there is carbon build up on them.

I went from a qt of oil burnt every 300 miles to a qt every 2500 miles. I dont live in a cold climate and had my bmw tuner check my install he said it was great and a great idea!
It really works.

Man that’s great to hear and makes me feel more comfortable!
Which brand can did you go with? I’ve been looking at the radium one
And how is the Maintenance on it? Like how often do you find your self emptying the catch can
