A Production 'Bottleneck' Means Tesla Is Way Behind On Model 3 Deliveries

Tesla delivered just 220 Model 3s in the third quarter of 2017, well behind Elon Musk's original target
A Production 'Bottleneck' Means Tesla Is Way Behind On Model 3 Deliveries

A few months ago, Tesla CEO Elon Musk laid down some bold production targets for the new Model 3. Production is supposed to be hitting 20,000 units per month from December, with 100 built in July and 1500 in August, but so far, Tesla has delivered…220.

In other words, the electric car firm is 14 per cent below target. Not the best news for the hundreds of thousands of people on the waiting list. So what went wrong? Tesla told its shareholders:

“There are no fundamental issues with the Model 3 production or supply chain. We understand what needs to be fixed and we are confident of addressing the manufacturing bottleneck issues in the near term.”

It’s partly down to certain “manufacturing subsystems” which have “taken longer to activate than expected,” the company explained. Deliveries have increased by 4.5 per cent over 2016’s third quarter however, and 17.7 per cent over the second quarter of this year.

Later this month, Tesla will launch its very first semi truck and its home in Hawthorne, California.

I think people are just too scared with Ludicrous Mode in their Model 3, so that’s why it ain’t selling more.

Raise your hand if you haven’t seen that coming. Now lower your hand if you’re a toddler.

The problem is
It’s not as quality buit as the Leaf. Tesla makes one hell of an electrical system, but the “car” part is bad. Not on the S, but on the cheap cars like this. Leaf is really better. And the problem is, E engines and wiring, is simple to make, I can make it on Teslas level, anyone can, only thing Tesla is good at is the battery, and unfortunally, EVs are a ticking bomb, one day some drunk scientist will invent a battery that charges under a minute, can reach 2000km and weights 10 times less than me. And then, I’m afraid Tesla won’t have anything. I love Teslas, but what’s the truth is the truth

That’s why I’ve never seen the Tesla as a “car” It just doesn’t seem complete. A couple of screens and five seats. Plus a battery to make it go. Seeing the Model X, it all looks really tacky as well.

Tesla has quite some time left to make up for that. Look at how Kia got better in the finish department in just a years. Other example are the Germans who have pretty much just hopped on the train to the next technological leap that is the EV

Tesla doesn’t make batterys parasonic does, you can buy those same batterys you self to. The battery cels are just made of a lot of smal parasonic batterys they look like AA s but bigger

Its all about storage of energy density or lets say Joules per kg and Joules per volume. Nothing beats diesel on that comparison. New batteries? What new batteries. Only hydrogen is a logical clean contender.

How can you say it’s poorly built if you haven’t yet been inside one, unless you are one of the 220
