A New Aston Martin Vantage Roadster Is Coming

Soon, you’ll be able to order your Aston Martin Vantage with a lot more headroom. The British company has released a set of images showing a very lightly disguised Vantage Roadster “engineering car,” which previews a production version arriving Spring 2020.

As with the last Aston Martin Vantage Roadster, the new one will use a folding fabric roof

Beyond that, Aston Martin is keeping shtum, although it isn’t hard to work out what the Vantage Roadster will be like - all the stuff under the skin of the coupe is likely to be carried over. That means it’ll use a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 developing 503bhp.

Power will be sent rewards via a transaxle-mounted eight-speed automatic gearbox and an electronically-controlled limited-slip differential. The tin top’s 3.6-second 0-62mph time will most likely drop a tenth or two owing to the inevitable gain in weight.

Will it get the option of a seven-speed dog-leg manual gearbox option, as per the Vantage coupe? That’s an unknown at this stage, although we don’t see why not.

This, or a 992 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet?

It’s what the F-Type would look like if it was an EV and had the typical “Look at me, I’m electric!” design to it

I didn’t like the coupe’s rear, but this one uses the tail lights to its adVANTAGE and I like that.

Here’s a side-on view of my F-Type. Damn, they are very, very similar!

I say this having sold a V8 Vantage (previous gen) to get an F-Type.
