A Leaping Kamaz Dakar Truck Is A Surprisingly Graceful Sight

This mesmerising video shows a Dakar-winning Kamaz truck jumping in the snow from many, many angles...

The truck class of the Dakar Rally is rather bonkers. The way these monstrous vehicles move seems to be at odds with the laws of physics - something neatly demonstrated by the 2017 Dakar-winning Team Kamaz Master truck seen here, as it pulls off a sizeable jump with Eduard Nikolaev at the wheel. Which we’re shown from many, many angles.

We’re also given a behind-the-scenes look at what the truck’s various hardy components get up to during a jump like this. It’s particularly cool seeing the 30cm of suspension travel at work, with some hefty-looking leaf springs doing their thing.

I’d say that this is more graceful.

It’s funny you say that, cuz Daimler AG which is parent company of the Mercedes owns 11% of KAMAZ shares and is third biggest shareholder of the company.
