A Huge Need For Speed Announcement Is Dropping Tomorrow

Last month EA and Ghost confirmed that a new Need for Speed game will be joining the franchise at the end of 2017, as well as announcing a few details.

They kept information close to their chests, but did say offline gameplay will return, customisation will remain as big a part of the game as ever and police chases will feature.

The news also hinted that off-road driving could be more of a focus in the next NFS, and that it’ll have a wider open-world to explore.

A Huge Need For Speed Announcement Is Dropping Tomorrow

On Thursday, the NFS Twitter account shared a picture (above) with a link to its YouTube channel, saying there will be a “full reveal” of the game.

It’ll come at 6:00am Los Angeles time and 14:00pm London time. Judging by the link, we can assume there will be a trailer involved.

One thing’s for sure, we can’t wait to hear more about the next NFS – and the reveal will most likely confirm the name, too.

Prior to that post, NFS shared a smoky preview image of the game on Twitter with a skyline in the background.

Some had lowered the contrast to get a better look at the skyline, but it’s much clearer in the reveal image - with the tower on the right sparking some conversation about the location inspiration.

It looks like the Seattle Space Needle or the Vegas Stratosphere Tower. Most NFS games feature fictional cities that are inspired or similar to real-life locations, so that could point to either of those.

I haven’t played NFS after Rivals. The series kept getting crappier by the game. MW2012, what a disappointment to say the least. How hard is it to replicate the success of the 2005 MW/Carbon series with proper characters(not the crappy ones you see in MW2015), gripping storyline, proper music(like in the Underground/MW05 games) in a career mode that spans atleast 48 hours. Online Mode should always be an optional thing, much like how GTA has managed to keep V and GTAO seperate. As long as i get content worth my $60, I’ll buy it. Forcing me to play an online only game with no storyline to enjoy is a big no-no.

Pardon me, but NFS MW 2012 wasn’t supposed to be the way it was. EA, for whatever, reason, decided to make Criterion scrap all customization and make it a Burnout clone. Also, it’s hard to replicate the success of 2005 MW/Carbon because it’s not 2005 anymore. People are looking for something different. Maybe not everyone, but at least SOMEONE. Also, why does it matter if it has no story or not? A lot of NFS games have no story, and aren’t criticized as harshly as, say, Rivals.
