Traffic cops on a routine patrol in Shanghai, China, were startled to come across the Batmobile parked up outside a factory. Upon closer inspection they discovered that it doesn’t actually have an engine, but is an incredibly accurate model put together by 26-year-old Li Weilei and his colleagues.

Weilei and co. spent 70,000 yuan (£6700, $11,200) to put together the machine, which is made from two tonnes of scrap metal. Although it doesn’t have an engine, the doors can be opened to reveal a sparse interior with a steering wheel (that doesn’t turn) and a crude driver’s seat.

According to GBTimes.com, Weilei used to work in the movie industry as a prop maker, but has now turned his talent into his own business. This Batmobile (and other props he has made) are rented by local businesses for promotional purposes.
