A Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Prototype Has Been Spotted, And It's Wearing A Mad Rear Wing

While the incoming - probably mid-engined - C8 is stealing most of the Corvette headlines these days, we must not forget about the final piece of the C7 puzzle. And by that, we mean the ZR1. Happily, to give us a rumbly V8 reminder, a group of C7 Corvettes were spotted in Ohio this week, with what looks to be two ZR1 prototypes among their number.

What’s interesting is that one’s a coupe, and one’s a convertible - the previous ZR1 came only as a tin top, but that looks set to change. There seems to be two different spoiler options too: one relatively sensible, and a flipping massive one that looks like it’s stolen off the Corvette C7.R race car. We’ll take the latter, please…

Under the bonnet, the expectation is for the ZR1 to use a modified version of the Z06’s LT4 6.2-litre V8, possibly with a power output in excess of 700bhp.
