My new Mercedes E420 CDI
The university life is behind me, got my degree, got a job selling cars, moved to a larger apartment with my girlfriend and after doing boring adult stuff like replacing furniture and buying appliances and being away from carthrottle for over a year, I also managed to save enough money to finally buy my dream car…
A 2007 Mercedes E420 CDI with an AMG-package, Airmatic, Bi-xenon, full spec, heated/ cooled, memory, electric seats with massage function, Harman Kardon Logic 7, NTG1 with tv, CD changer, radar cruise control, three zone climate control, the works…
Can’t leave her stock, so I gutted the DPF, got an AMG-exhaust system and an ECU-remap.
She now makes a whopping 400hp and 870Nm. Removed the 250kmh limiter. Blacked out all windows, swapped standard headlight xenon bulbs for 6000k ones and swapped the standard fog light bulbs for 6000k xenon ones for that cool, aggressive look.
My next mod is gonna be a lip spoiler and a new head unit, cause the NTG1 has not aged well…
So I’m gonna install a Dynavin N7 MBE unit. Got a Dynavin in my C-class and am very happy with it, so my E-class is gonna get one too. Dynavin head units look very similar to the NTG1, have the same Mercedes orange lighting in the dark, come with digital radio, tv, USB ports and a SD-card slot.
A 32GB card would fit all of my music.
And the best part of it are the voice commands… They work just as good as Mercedes’s Linguatronic. Meaning - total disobedience! You’d say “Radio” and it shows the map. And I love that! I can argue with my own car.
I’ve always loved the W211… The regular E-classes are a bit tame. They look good, but with the AMG-package, they look amazing!
It’s the perfect blend of style, elegance, luxury and aggression .
The angry look the front bumper has is just gorgeous. And with quad pipes in the back… I am a man in love.
Also AMG-styled E-class diesels are very rare. Most diesel owners just want a economical, comfortable, reliable car and are not interested in making it look sporty. So even the E320 and E420 rarely get the AMG styling. Especially in Bulgaria, where most W211 are either E200s, or E220s… so mine does stand out.

Nikola L pretty much summed it up. Good fuel economy, even if I’m with a heavy right foot. Never seen her go past 13L/100km. Normally I’m between 8 and 11L/100km.
She’ll do 0-100 in 5 seconds, that’s sports car territory and will keep going to about 280… Never had the chance to do a proper top speed run. Fastest I’ve gone is 240.
If I’m feeling like an idiot, I can turn off the ESP and floor it at a set of lights and leave in a flurry of wheelspin and tiresmoke. Not advisable, cause Pirellis ain’t cheap.
And then there is the image… I have a twin-turbo V8, RWD, luxury sedan/ tire shredder, that looks like an AMG, rides like an S-class and I don’t have to eat canned beans for the rest of my life XD
It’s all of the fun of an AMG, without the high cost.

Благодаря братле! Страшен звяр е. Сигурно най-мощния дизел в Русе. Като тиинеиджър исках Е63 АМГ ама прекалено много харчи, частите са безбожно скъпи, пък и сега с тия нови застраховки, ще трябва парите за почивка да ги давам за гражданска… Така, че се влюбих в Е420-ката.
Пък V8-ака на Е420 е здрав, може някои работи сам да ги правя, имам и обд скенер за Мерцедеси, ако нещо се повреди, да мога да намеря проблема и да се свържа с приятели, да го оправя.

Also I love how my 2007 E-class has everything a 2018 E-class has for a fraction of the price.
Fancy cruise control, fancy seats, rear camera, fancy infotainment (when I install the new head unit), premium audio and the best part - no cheap plastics! Seriously, mid 2000s Mercedes have no cheap feeling plastics. Even the plastic handle you use to get to the spare tire feels nice and fairly expensive.
Everything is there, for a fraction of the price of a new car. And the bestest part… Parts are affordable and I can do some of the work myself. Cause with brand new cars, you need a degree in engineering to do any real work.
With 400 hp this thing could be a proper diesel AMG.Also really like how suptile it looks,nothing too much but just enough to turn some heads.
Beautiful car, it has more torque than the new E63s that’s madness.
Thanks man, she is an absolute beast… Especially on our slippery Bulgarian tarmac, the ESP light comes on quite often.
