Keep the resonator and just put a series 40 flowmaster. Mercedes 5.0 sound awesome with those. Not too loud, but excellent muscle car sound.

On my CLK 500 I deleted the secondary cats, thinner/longer resonator, and super 40 flowfaster. Sounded beastly but a little too loud for some driving situations. Woke up my kid and neighbors whenever it started up 😂

Don’t remove the resonator it will vibrate that beautiful beast and will ruin the ride
