A big post about fake garage posts: A CTzen's frustration.
August 10, 2017
Greetings all Car Throttle users,
This post is to address those complaining of too many fake garage posts. If you’re about to post a vehicle you own or just going to the garage community to see some awesome cars people own, then no need to read this.
It’s great to see people with nice cars. Those serve as an inspiration to those without a car to work harder (in school/at work) to get one. However, not everyone here is legal to own a car or drive just yet and they still post a car in their Car Throttle virtual garage. Let me discuss this a bit and see if you agree…
Allow me to get through the “don’t-dos”, which will simply get your post deleted.. Simply, if the vehicle isn’t yours, don’t post it. You can’t fool anyone. No, posting a picture of a GT-R in your garage and making it obvious that you don’t own it is not okay, even if you say “it’s not mine, it’s my dream car”. Posting your dad or mom’s car? I’m fine with that, or immediate family members for that matter. Putting cars that you took a few pictures of at a car meet or saw on the highway do not belong in the garage, either. That goes for toy vehicles and your drawings, too. Simply put, the toy vehicle belongs in toys and gadgets, while the drawing belongs in car art. The posts that show a picture of the user’s foot and calling it “6969 Toyota Foot” are just immature and annoying, as well as stuff that has nothing to do with vehicles. Yes, your foot is a means of transport, but it’s not a vehicle.
Realize how I’ve been using the word “vehicle” instead of “car” this whole time because I want to let those who don’t have a car to be able to take the opportunity to upload their transport method. By vehicle, it is not limited to bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, anything you own, which does not mean the public bus.
Too long, didn’t read?
- Do not post images of Google or drawings to your garage.
- Do not post toy cars in your garage.
- Do not post your foot or anything similar.
- Do not post anything that has nothing to do with vehicles.
- Do post your sports equipment (bicycle, scooter, etc.)
- Do post cars and vehicles you own.
Thanks to everyone who followed the rules and hopefully those who didn’t can consider what I said and help make the community even better.
